It may be titled 'explosion', but all I see is a bird, free, and that portrays such profundity about the piece. It's wonderfully original and it leaves things open for interpretation as well. There is such a sense of flight and freedom, of expression and openness rather than the destruction of an explosion. However much I might argue the title though, thank you for sharing this piece of your work!

thank you, guys!

for everyone who asked how it was done: i call this technique "inverse lightpainting" because i don't actually "paint" anything, i just shoot lights that look interesting and then jerk the camera around a bit during the exposure. so a lot of it is just chance.
this particular one was a twisted metal sheet sculpture illuminated from the inside, which i thought looked pretty cool. [link] and [link] are from this location, too.
